After breakfast, transfer to starting point of the Portuguese Camino by the Coast. Here you will get your first stamp on your credential. For this first day, we will also hand a packed lunch with a sandwich, fruit and water. This is a basic services stage of the Camino but with  impressive views of Vigo´s bay. Tonight you will have dinner at an old river mill that has been transformed into a pleasant tapas bar.

Night at a private hostel in Redondela. Accommodation and breakfast

After breakfast, you will continue the Camino. This stage is very well signed. You will reach the town of Arcade where you can do a nice stop for lunch. You can try some of the local cuisine and also the famous oysters. On arrival to Pontevedra, you can rest at the hotel and get ready for a nice evening at a nice local restaurant to do a wine tasting followed by dinner in the beautiful Old Quarter of the city.

Night at 3 star hotel in city centre. Accommodation and breakfast.

In the morning we leave Pontevedra following the yellow arrows and other “Camino” marks, such as the shell, until you get to a big sign post announcing two options; The Portuguese Way or the Spiritual Way. You turn left to follow the Spiritual Way.

You will pass by the first Monastery of the day; Mosteiro de Poio and its impressive Horreo (characteristic  buildings, only found in Galicia, dedicated to keep the grain all year round). You will then reach Combarro, a beautiful fishing village popular for its many “horreos” by the sea. This is a perfect place to stop for lunch and taste some of the local sea specialties. After that, there is a good climb up to Armenteira, so we recommend a good rest (maybe a siesta ) before facing the hill. At arrival to today´s destination you can visit the Armenteira Monastery and stroll in the picturesque village. You will have dinner at a local restaurant in Armenteira.

Night at a the Monastery. Accommodation and breakfast.

After breakfast, you will continue today to one of the most beautiful stages of the Camino,  the Stone and Water Route, going down a river and passing numerous mills. Once this route finishes you will find again the Santiago signs, which will take you on a path up the Umia River. Its basin is home to the Albariño wine and Rias Baixas. You will do a nice stop at a beautiful winery for winery tour and tasting. Following the Camino after a wine or two, we recommend you to stop for lunch at Ponte Arnelas, to continue afterwards and end today´s stage at Vilanova de Arousa.

Night at a local hotel. Accommodation and breakfast.

From Vilanova you will take an motor boat to Pontecesures. It is believed that this is actually the  way Santiago Apostol arrived to Santiago. Traslatio is the name for this route, which follows the 17 Cruceiros (stone crosses) till the end of the bay and up the Ulla river. On arrival to Pontecesures, you will follow again the yellow arrows until Teo (10 Kms)

You can stop for lunch on arrival to Pontecesures or Padrón. When arrival to Teo, you will follow signs to the Rural House (Agroturismo) where you will also have dinner.

Night at a cottage/rural house. Accommodation and breakfast

There´s only 10 km to Santiago!  On arrival and after checking in the hotel, you can spend a few hours strolling around the city. A farewell dinner is organized to give the trip the end it deserves.
