Asturias - Lastres - Lagos de Covadonga -Ribadesella - Cangas de Onís - Picos de Europa - Oviedo

Day 01 – Bilbao-Arrival: Transfer to Asturias
Arrival to Bilbao airport and transfer to your hotel in Torazo, Asturias (2h50m transfer). Depending on arrival times, you will have time to rest. Briefing at the hotel of the following days on bike activity. Delivery of materials for the development of activities, security measures, schedules and other doubts and questions that arise. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 02 – Asturias: Bike tour coastline: 4 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. You will start your bike tour through the coastline. The route follows the wild and spectacular coastline, a landscape of cliffs, beaches and small coastal settlements, leading to the beautiful fishing village of Lastres. Lunch in Lastres. Lastres has joined in 2014 to the select club of the “most beautiful towns in Spain”. It still has one of the most famous port prints in Asturias. The fishing boats with the stepped bottom of a beautiful fishing town, make up one of the most representative images of the maritime essence of the region. After lunch and back to the hotel you will enjoy an afternoon at the hotel SPA. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 03 – Asturias: Bike tour Covadonga Lakes: 5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. You will start your bike tour through the Lagos de Covadonga. One of Asturias´ most famous postcard images -and the favorite of many cyclists- is the ascent to the Lakes of Covadonga (also highlighted usually in La Vuelta Ciclista a España). It is a very tough and demanding stage but spectacular in terms of views. The best part is that every stop you make to rest will offer such breathtaking views, that every drop of swear will be worth it. Lunch in Cangas de Onís. After lunch you will go for a walk to the Puente Romano. The “Big Bridge” or “Roman Bridge” is the monument that most symbolizes Cangas de Onís. It actually dates from the Late Middle Ages, but may well have Roman origins, as indicated by the thick buttresses and sharp cutwaters. The parapet, with a cobble path, is a scenic balcony over the River Sella, serving as a risky springboard, along with its abutments, for summer bathers, as the bridge crosses a pool in the river used by the locals to take a dip. A wooden replica of the Victory Cross hangs from the central arch. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 04 – Asturias: The descent of the River Sella by Kayak: 4 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will enjoy the descent of the River Sella by kayak. Without a doubt, the most descended river in the world. Its waters roar from the melting snow of the Picos de Europa, the perfect location for the famous descent of the river Sella, 15 kilometers of white wáter fun at your own rythm. Lunch in Ribasedelle. After lunch you will enjoy a walk on the Ribadeselle Beach. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 05 – Asturias: Bike tour Moandi-Beleño: 4 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will reach two famous climbs: Collada Mohandi and Collada Llomena from Beleño. The Collada Moandi is a 12 Kms easy climb across beautiful forests. The road is extremely quiet and with very good surface. The descent towards Ponga is stunning. The road is steeper and more open exposing the impressive mountains of Ponga and Picos de Europa. Collado Llomena from Beleño is a climb of medium difficulty. The first 2km are the most challenging, after which the gradient backs off and is quite comfortable. It is a highly enjoyable climb in the heart of the Ponga Natural Park. Lunch in Cangas de Onís. After lunch you will go for a walk to La Salmonera, located in the town of Caño , two kilometers from Cangas de Onís. The Caño station was built to facilitate the recovery of the Salmones del Sella through stairs and artificial pools in the river bed, since a dam had been built to divert water to a hydroelectric power station commissioned in 1928. A perfect place to watch the king of the Sella river go up the stairs and waterfalls to return to his birthplace and complete his life cycle. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 06 – Asturias: Trekking tour Picos de Europa: 5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will enjoy a trekking tour to the Picos de Europa. The Picos de Europa National Park is one of the biggest in Spain and is situated between the areas of Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla y León. It covers an area of 64,660 hectares (636 square miles) and has been designated a UNECO Biosphere Reserve, characterised by huge massifs, green pastures, rocky pinnacles and snowfields. On the way, you will visit a Cheese Cave. Picnic Lunch After lunch and back to the hotel you will enjoy an afternoon at the hotel SPA. Dinner in Arriondas.
Day 07– Asturias: Bike tour Cubilla: 5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel. Today your objective is a sensational climb called “La Cubilla”. One of the best kept secrets of Spanish cycling recently discovered by the Vuelta a España organization. You will enjoy 28 kilometers of continuous and extended climbing, with an average gradient of 4.7%, crowning 1,672 meters of altitude. All this crossing the Natural Park of Las Ubiñas-La Mesa. Lunch on route. You will enjoy a local tour of Oviedo. The compact but characterful and historic casco antiguo (old town) of Asturias’ civ¬ilised capital is agreeably offset by elegant parks and busy, modern shopping streets to its west and north. Oviedo is a fun, sophisticated city, with a stash of intriguing sights, some excellent restaurants and a lively student population. Out on the periphery, the hum and heave of factories is a strong reminder that Oviedo is a major producer of textiles, weapons and food. Dinner in Oviedo.
Day 08 – Departure from Bilbao
After breakfast, transfer to Bilbao for your flight back home.
